SØRFOND Pitching Forum 2012 deadline expires

The 20th August at 12pm marks the deadline for submitting applications to the SØRFOND Pitching Forum 2012. The 2nd annual Pitching Forum will be held during the 22nd edition of the Films from the South festival.

On the 9th and 10th October, producers from countries on the DAC-list will have the opportunity to present their project to Norwegian producers, with a view to establish co-productions on their projects. In order to later be eligible to apply for SØRFOND support, foreign producers must enter in a co-production with local Norwegian minority producers.

The 27th February 2013 marks the deadline for applying to SØRFOND support. The Pitching Forum on the 9th-10th October is therefore an important venue for main producers and potential co-producers to meet.

During the first year of SØRFOND, a total of 4,000,000 NOK in support (around € 530,000) was allocated to seven different projects. One film made with SØRFOND support will be presented during this year’s Films from the South festival, the Indian documentary When Hari Got Married.

SØRFOND, the Norwegian South Film Fund, is an inter-departmental cooperation between The Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and The Norwegian Ministry of Culture. The Norwegian Film Institute (NFI) and the Films from the South Foundation (FFS) are jointly in charge of the administration of the fund.
